1962	AJK N.V. stands for ATELIER JANSSEN KAULILLE and is a medium sized Belgian enterprise situated in the north-east of Belgium. AJK was founded in 1962, when M. Jacques Janssen started, his own business in Achel. Manufacturing and repairing agricultural equipment were among his main activities.
1963	Due to the arrival of central heating systems in the beginning of the sixties, he came up with the idea to build fuel storage tanks. With this goal in mind, his first workshop was build in Achel. The demand for fuel storage tanks was huge, which resulted in a lack of space in the production department. To incrase the production capacity considerably, AJK was forced to move.
1968	A bigger plant was built in Sint-Huibrechts-Lille and the removal followed in 1968. To reinforce the company economically, new products were sought to add to the product range. The first new products were the waste containers, which were designed and built in the beginning of the seventies. Due to the conistent increase of the demand for AJK products, the production capacity had to be increased soon.
1972	More production space became a must. In the industrial parc in Kaulille (Bocholt) a plot of ground of 8,5 ha was bought. In 1972, the removal to the new building in Kaulille followed. Another consequence of manufacturing containers was that AJK became a "household name" in the transport sector and the environmental sector. Soon even more products such as tippers on trucks, waste compactors, semi-trailers, trailers, hooklift systems were added to the product range. To enhance the position of the European market, sales establishments were founded in Germany, the Netherlands and France. In diverse other countries sales are assured through cooperation with local dealers. Doing so, AJK is present in the whole of Western-Europe with the result that about 75% of the turnover is destined for export.
1988	Concerning Belgium, sales are assured directly from AJK N.V. with our own sales representatives. In the Netherland, we cooperate with AJK Nederland B.V. In France, we cooperate with AJK France S.A. In Germany, we cooperate with AJK Entsorgungs-Systeme GmbH.
1990	To enable a further growth, AJK Hydrolift N.V. was founded in 1990. This company is specialized in the production of hookloaders and skiploaders. All main parts, even the hydraulic cylinders, are manufactured within AJK Hydrolift. AJK Hydrolift has a great cooperation with dealers all over Europe as well as the Far East, where the local dealer promotes, sells, mounts and assures aftersales-services of the AJK Hydrolift products.
1995	As the demand for tanks increases, AJK Tankbouw N.V. was founded in 1995. The main activity of AJK Tankbouw is to produce and commercialize of storage tanks and pressure vessels in steel and stainless steel.
1998	The remove of AJK Tankbouw to Bree because of a need for more production space . Production space : 12.000 m²
